It’s important if you want to get a decent job. If that’s how you express yourself on paper (or any form of print), an employer isn’t going to give you a chance to express yourself in person. It also seems like your teacher is trying to teach you critical thinking skills, something that is also important when you want to get a decent job. Critical thinking and good communication skills are important for life in general.
