I can’t stay here anymore.

There are things I like about it, but I’ve never felt so disconnected from the world around me. It doesn’t help that all my friends and family are hours away. I’m making friends here but for some reason I just don’t feel grounded in this place. I feel like everything’s closing in around me, suffocating me.

i think you can stay where you are, especially being you are stuck there for another two years, it doesn’t seem as if you have an option.
i think living in a big city, you do become disconnected from everything around you. everyone else is so concerned with where THEY are going and what THEY are doing, that after awhile, you don’t see the people through the crowd… if that makes any sense.
with cell phones and the internet and video chat and skype and everything out there, you could be talking to your family and friends on a regular basis.
why would you feel “grounded”..? if you hate where you live and want to leave, and are planning on leaving after the two years are up, you shouldn’t bother to set your roots down.
