yeah
i fucking love music. i fucking love music that penetrates emotion, that oozes all kinda stuff that leaves you feel certain emotions. from bands like Angels and Airwaves. from two years of depression i woke up from it, by playing, listening and living through their music. i built up the courage to ask out a girl by listening to their first album. i studied my first exam whilst listening to it and got one of the highest grades in the class.
yet whenever i try and tell people why they mean so much to me when they ask, they don’t understand. its ‘gay’ to feel so much for ‘just a band’, its so fucking frustrating, that when people call music their life, they like it for just the image, that fact that the artist or band member is ‘hot’, music has gone from portraying meaning of emotion through lyrics and music, to image, and commercialism. and no one can see real talent anymore. all of earth would prefer a six pack or double d’s to lyrics and music that actually matters. Music like that written by Tom Delonge saved my life, why isn’t there more music like this to help others?

Wow. I feel the exact same way. And Im 19 yrs old, and one of the only girls in my group of friends that hates that lady gaga crap! And for some reason whenever the topic is music, or whenever I have the chance to give my opinion on music I always say pretty much the same thing as you. I think that Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga are a disgrace to the music industry and I dont get how people actually support that junk. I see no musical talent in girls like that. They dont even have good voices. And just this morning I was telling my mom that it seems like not enough people truly feel music anymore. I think that lyrics should be deep, almost poetic with mystery and meaning. But it seems like society today, would rather here some wacko sing about “Alejandro” or some sh** like that! I mean, whats this world coming to? They should seriously take some tips from real singers. You know, the singers that actually have good voices, the singers that might actually not be around anymore because the time when good voices mattered with music and making it big was a long time ago. Time has passed, and has unfortunately changed. People disrespect what music is all about by putting girls up on stage half naked with no talent, except for talent in shaking there bodies around. The message they send is wrong. Sorry, I tend to get lengthy sometimes on the subject. However, thats cool that you feel that way. Angels and airwaves has some good lyrics, and actually with meaning too. hahah!
