I hate the Air Force
I hate the Air Force. I hate how they have no respect for individuality or for personal rights. I hate that they continue to fuck me over, and therefore fuck over my family. I think the entire organization is disgusting. The war is a fucking waste of time, resources, life and I’m sick and tired of seeing people die while everyone thinks its so cool. I hate ass kissing people who are inferior to me in every way yet are somehow model airman. I hate pot lucks, mandatory fun days, admin days. I hate that I’m stuck in this shitty thing until my contract ends, and if I get out sooner then they will fuck over my life (therefore fuck my family over) – my nine month old son is getting screwed because of this bull shit.

If you are a minority and especially a Muslim do not join the Air Force
Biggest mistake I ever made. No one ever talked to me or acknowledged my presence. I am an American born Muslim who wanted to establish brotherhood with my military colleagues. This didn’t happen. From day one when I showed up at my first base all I got was the cold white man stare. They were jealous of me because I drove a high end Mercedes and bought myself a 3000 fully furnished square foot house. My commander would constantly bring up the fact that I have a better life than most of the officers on base and you could see the jealousy seething from his pores. I don’t need the benefits or the LOW pay of the military. I joined to simply serve not for the benefits. They couldn’t wait to discharge me because of jealousy, envy, and bitterness that a BROWN person could be richer than their entitled priviledged white asses. I am out and btw we lost the “war on terror” lol.
I have a great job now btw which pays double than what I was making in the Air Farce. I still have my beautiful house in Arizona and my vehicle. So FUCK YOU AIR FARCE and your ignorant undeserving people! lol

Yes and it was used as an excuse to discharge me. People did far worse than me and all they got was a slap on the wrist because they were in the good ol’ white boy club. I had nothing but contempt and disgust throughout my five years in the AF. It probably showed but I couldn’t careless while I was in there. It’s a job for people that have nothing else going on in their lives so they join because they need work. Patriotism and honor become excuses for serving. You need the fucking money dude that’s why you joined. Any moron can “shut up and color” that’s why they stay in the Air Force and the military in general can’t think for themselves. When I was in all the minorities got everything they wanted. I had a black NCOIC who stayed drunk constantly. He ended up as a SMsgt. I, on the other hand got screwed. As to Kin town if you have been in the Marines you will not like the AF though it is toned down and allows more choices your supervisor will be some piece of shit that has the abilility to memorize questions for a test to make rank but has absolutley no idea how to lead people or to gain respect from fellow service members. more than likely you will end up wanting to beat your supervisors ass. i’ll be the first to admit that i’m white but! I have been a victim of the good ole boy club and trust me being white isnt a garunteed membership although kissing ass and giving tug jobs to supervision behind the shopette might get you promoted. i refuse to play by the rules and favor people who have been chosen by supervision to be golden children and spoon fed awards and oppourtunities not afforded to every one so i have at times been alienated and an outcast 11 months and i will never look back i love my kids and wife and the military and its fake ass mission for oil can waste its time but i will not be a part of this waste of fuckin americaan money.

If you’ve been in the CORPS you will absolutely love the Air Force. Don’t listen to these USAF whiners. I spent four years in the friggin Army, and went over to the Air Force it was like a kid going to a toy store. As long as you do your job and keep your act together nobody gives you any crap. It’s actually a better deal than most civilian jobs. Nobody screaming at you all the time, and the officers respect you for what your are. Officers anywhere do not respect you as an enlisted person. In the Air Force the culture is just more acceptable than, say, the Navy or Army, for enlisted and officers to be friendly with each other. If you think for a second that officers (in general) respect enlisted members–even in the Air Force–you’re sorely mistaken. They all think they’re better, more important, and smarter than you regardless of which branch you’re in.

I had a bachelors when I enlisted at 24, the same as my flight commander(s), who were typically captains…every single one of them talked to me like I was a retard. I was smarter and more skilled than all of them in virtually everything. I have met a few officers whom I actually respected as people…it just so happens they also were prior enlisted (imagine that!).
I realize that everyone’s perception is shaped by their own experiences, but in my experience I can count on one hand the number of commissioned officers I would actually follow and who created a positive atmosphere in which to grow professionally. They’ve all been more interested in advancing themselves.

I agree with the frustration with rank, etc. but in a society completely governed by a ranking system, what else can we expect? People love power and the military is tailor-made for someone with a big appetite for telling others what to do. It’s a non-discriminate truth (as far as situation, language, country, or any other division of people) that the individuals who “should” be in power will never want it, and the ones who lust after it shit on everyone under them. (most of the time but there are rare exceptions – those people keep me going and breathe life into my hope – isn’t it refreshing to find someone with power and a bit of sense and -gasp- empathy left?)
People are not machines, and the crazy thing about even discussing the human relations side of the military is that many people are immediately defensive about it. I believe that it is because for some people being a military member makes up a huge portion of their identity and for someone to be critical of the military it might feel like a personal jab – even if they don’t realize it. Just stop and think about it – it’s easy to find out a military fanatic/professional ass kisser’s sensitive areas and you don’t even have to try to get them going. Some even say that everyone is treated the same in the military, but if you’ve been singled out, you know this isn’t true. And sometimes it’s for well-disguised reasons which can not be written on a piece of paper because it’s proof of wrong doing.
Deny it if you want, but remember that humans are not perfect so the military is not perfect and people let their opinions and emotions get in the way of everything and if you have enough clout, you’re generally allowed to have temper tantrums and even personal vendettas.
It’s funny that professionalism and military bearing are constantly stressed, but I’ve seen so many people exploding with rage about the silliest things.
I guess it’s important to remember that you signed a paper, you’ve made a commitment, and you’re going to get to a better place while someone angry and stuck in rut will always find a reason to be mad. So remember you’re deeply blessed and there are good individuals around. And if you’re still in and miserable when that paper says you’re done, you’re done. Believe me – I look forward to that day, too. I thought I’d be fighting for something that mattered and something good for my country. Now I just want everyone to come back home safely and for the war to end. Which one is better for America?

I was in the air force enlisted loved the first 18 months I got a new tsgt about the time two of my officers went tdy I was doing great by the time the officers got back I had been in cc for very minor right ups mostly fabricated he sent 3 of agroup of 7 to cc he was denied re enlistment or promotion for this they tried to make it up to me the other 2 gave up wouldnt even come to work no other problems realy but when asked to reup I said absolutely not I understand he was just an a hole but wouldnt forgive that it went so far and my friends just gave up and got discharged you can keep the air force I make way more outside and no one has that kind of bs power over me

Navigator school is a Popularity contest. My wife just finally passed her schooling of about a year in the AF Did substantialy better than just about anyone in her class. Drop night comes they give people who cant even pass a PFT there first air craft choice a Japanese guy that doesnt even speak japanese btw my wifes a Major in japanese a drop to yokota. And people who are regal dumbasses there first pick.. my wife? She got her 13th pick aka the worst fucking plane ever with no hope of ever getting out of North Dakota or Louisianna. All the negative press you hear about the Air Force begins at its flagship – the incestuous, narcissistic, racist, intolerant Air Force Academy. Don’t let the veil of patriotism and clever marketing fool you, they are VERY good at covering up negative press. Every rumor from there has a source of truth…and USAFA makes sure the source is ridiculed or dismissed with as much ”smoke a mirrors” to diminish the truth. The KKK is a better institution than USAFA – at least the KKK makes their message clear so a choice can be made…the Air Force Academy cleverly disguises their hatred toward humankind. Thus, get rid of the Air Force Academy and maybe you’ll see a less ”milky” Air Force and less ”bleached” leadership within it.

I am currently an E4 in security forces and believe me my life is shit. Long hours, stacked on top of more hours worshiping your flight chief or commander or whoever is more alpha male. I incurred an injury during my time in service within this organization and they are giving me the boot because of the injury. Their excuse? My presence at work everyday will further aggravate the injury but they are giving me the boot out the door as if civillian employment will not have the same so called effect.
If you are a minority, smart, and confident, you will have problems awaiting you and that is the truth. The non-minorities seems to be threatened by an intelligent minority. The higher ranking officials with no clue (NCO and Officers alike)are intimidated by someone who can think for themselves and are fully competent at there job.
All this organization cares about is whether you pass PT and nothing more. You can be dumb as S**t, but pass PT and you are in good standing. Full knowledge and competence of your AFSC is no longer mandatory. You have people with stripes on their shoulders and bars/leafs/birds/stars on their collars that should not posess them.
You have Senior NCOs who refuse to take their PT test by hiding behind the profile but yet expect their airman and those below them to test on the regular. They refuse to work but want you to pick up the tab with the work. They refuse to deploy but will send you out in the field in a heartbeat.
I have experienced this bull ever since BMT. Racist MTI’s, Racist Tech School instructors, Racist leaders a my home station. All bull S**t.
How the hell do they expect me to get better if I no longer have access to healthcare coverage? They were too stupid to think about that. I guess I will bide my time and wait until I am called up to meet the MEB to plead my case.

The rules don’t apply to them. They can do no wrong. If something does go wrong they just pass the buck onto someone in the enlisted side of the house.
