what women want
some time back my wife of many years left me, took the kids (custody for no reason but she was the mom), and ended up marrying what one of my kids described as “a mean drunk”. since then i remarried happily to a woman who is actually sane, our kids have grown and moved out on wife #1 , but the position she put them in still irks me. two quesions: a: what makes women choose the a-hole type over someone stable, and b: why do courts assume women are the better parents?

courts always side with the mother in divorce cases unless you can prove that she is an unfit parent, that’s just the way it is.
as for why they would choose the asshole over a stable guy, i highly doubt ANYONE can answer that question.
